3rd International Research to Practice Conference on

Topical problems of Linguistics and Linguodidactics in non-linguistic universities

December 11th-12th, 2018

Conference participants should pre-register by November 1st, 2018.

Hosted by the Faculty of Linguistics, Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU)

Working languages of the conference are Russian and English.

The scope of the Conference includes the following topics:

Linguistics: Linguodidactics:
·         Functional-semantic, cognitive, pragmatic peculiarities of linguistic units at different levels;

·         Text and discourse in current linguistic paradigms;

·         Cognitive approach to studies relevant to professional communication and terminology;

·         Problems of interpersonal and cross-cultural communication.

·         Language dynamics in the age of globalization and migration processes.

·         Teaching languages for specific purposes   at technical universities;

·         ICTs in language teaching and learning;

·         Cross-cultural aspects of teaching foreign languages and communication culture;

·         Developing translation skills;

·         Foreign language testing;

·         Inclusive education and teaching languages to students with special needs;

·         Foreign language teaching in a non-linguistic university as part of double degree programs and further vocational training.

Participation formats

Plenary talk (20 – 40 minutes)

Oral presentation (10 minutes)

Poster presentation (requires in-person attendance)

Workshop (60 minutes)

Publications:

Materials to be published should be submitted in either Russian or English before November 20th, 2018, by e-mail to conferencel@bmstu.ru according to the requirements above.

After the Conference the Academic Committee will recommend the selected contributions to be published in the electronic peer-reviewed journal Gumanitarnyy Vestnik — Humanities Bulletin of BMSTU (included in Russian Science Citation Index). Publication requirements concerning articles to be published in the Humanities Bulletin of BMSTU will be sent to these authors individually.
